Bamboo rings
Our bamboo rings are made from Moso bamboo, harvested when the culms are strong and mature. The bamboo is cut into tubes and split into strips that are planed to a uniform thickness.

To ensure durability and stability, the bamboo strips undergo a carbonisation process – a treatment with heat and moisture that breaks down sugars in the bamboo.
This makes the material more robust and less vulnerable to mould and insects.
A completely standard and professional method for bamboo products.

When the bamboo is ready, the strips are bent into a circular shape and then cut out as either rings or half‑rings, depending on the product.

The rings are assembled with a water‑based PVAc glue (often called “white glue”), which is the most commonly used adhesive type for bamboo and wood.
It is non‑toxic, non‑flammable and provides a flexible, natural joint that suits a living material like bamboo perfectly. Finally, the rings are sanded and polished so they are smooth and pleasant to the touch.
This gives a neat, uniform look – and a ring that is light, strong and durable.
