Zippers – function and flexibility

Zippers are an important detail in both crocheted and knitted bags, and also in projects such as high‑neck jumpers.

If the exact length is not available, there is a simple fix:

Tip – shortening zippers

1. Measure the required length and mark.

2. Cut about 1 cm below the mark.

3. Sew a few tight stitches across the teeth at the top so the slider cannot run off.

4. Fold and stitch the tape edge neatly.

This way, the zipper is tailored to the project.
