Bag bases – the foundation of many of our crocheted bags

At Go handmade, bag bases are a central part of the collection. They often determine whether a crocheted bag stands properly – giving shape, stability and a look that lasts. When the bag is put into use, it is the base that gathers and supports the entire construction, so the result is both beautiful and functional.

Every base starts from a precise shape, made to our own measurements so the holes are positioned exactly and the spacing fits our patterns perfectly. Inside, the bases have a solid core in a rubber‑like material that adds weight and stability.

The core is then covered with PU‑leather – a high‑quality synthetic that resembles real leather in structure. Finally, the edges receive a special treatment, where a liquid material is painted on to seal the sides. After drying and curing, the bases are finished – ready for many lovely crocheted bag projects.
